| Do you sometimes use multiple computers simultaneously? Do you sometimes leave the conversation in focus and then turn away from the screen? If either of the above is true, youve probably missed messages. You type, hit enter, and then go on about your life expecting to be notified when your contact responds. If youre like me, though, you forgot to remove focus from your conversation before you turned away. In this instance, WLM wont play the "New Message" event, so you never get notified of a new message. Audible solves this by playing the "New Message" sound upon receipt of messages in conversations that are currently in focus, thereby ensuring youll hear the same sound WLM plays when you receive a new message. Never lose a message again! Features: - Plays the same "New Message" event sound used by WLM for a consistent user experience. - Only functions if the "New Message" event is enabled (per user). - Uses the Windows Multimedia subsystem to play sounds, ensuring that any sound playable on your system can be used, as long as its supported by WLM (since it uses WLMs sound settings). Instructions: Type /audible to toggle on/off or use the Script Menu. Changelog: 2008-10-22: v.1.1.1 * Added /script support for "status" and "about" * Added "toggle", "status" and "about" parms to /audible * Added Status and About menu entries * Gracefully handles unknown parms * Fixed a potential display issue with msgbox.xml Known Issues: - Assumes startup registry errors are always indicative of install/first startup. - Assumes Unicode when reading the NewMessage event sound path from the registry. This wont work on some Win95/98/ME implementations. 2008-10-22: v.1.1 * Minor bugfixes * Correctly handles OnEvent_Initialize (Will no longer attempt startup before a users logged in) * Correctly handles OnEvent_Uninitialize (Will no longer attempt shutdown after a users logged out) * Removed deprecated code and extraneous tracing Known Issues: - Assumes startup registry errors are always indicative of install/first startup. - Assumes Unicode when reading the NewMessage event sound path from the registry. This wont work on some Win95/98/ME implementations. |
